MEN + EGO = EGO MEN (paiseh! did math today!)
(no insults intended! (:) I was on my usual bus ride towards YWCA this morning and I’m always glad to live pretty far off from town where I get on quite early in the bus route to get a seat…
So.. this man sat beside me.. and.. you know how it’s like when people doze off, head starts to get heavy, then hangs down on one side (towards me). Usually I try not to wake that person unless he/she’s absolutely crossed the line and is a cm closer to making me his pillow. (hai. been getting this a lot recently.. tks to the fact that I get on during morning rush hour, and head home in the evening peak hours!)
Anyway, this man was like way too leany.. Then I lightly tapped him. He woke up, slightly emabarrassed.. And I smiled! (: hah..
He: Getting old already!
Me: Haha
He: Do u know I’m 67? My daughter is older than u!
Me: Oh? (:
He (smugly): She’s an assistant prof! (pause) In the University!Hai…Haha!! I’m more amused at his response than impressed! Hahaha! What’s up with covering up this little embarrassment with your capable daughter!! Shld’ve seen the look on his face.. Funny old man… (: I’m still amused.. He got himself another seat after that..
Random: It’s 9.30am as I write this on pen and paper at Toast Box @ PS, having my Teh C Kosong Kau and toast! (: (OHH!! As much as i like my Kopi CKS, the tea here is exceptionally thick and nice!!! Really! Always order one.. hee..)
There’s this 2 office guys sitting nearby. The Indian guy’s sharing the Word to his older-mid-life chinese colleague. He’s gesturing a lot and speaks with such conviction and enthusiasm.. It’s cool to hear him! (:
Ah! On my way home today, I sat on a 174 that went by 6th Avenue!!! HOw fun! (: Maybe one day it’ll go by Clementi! Haha..
