Hmm, as part of school work, I’m in the middle of preparing my CV. And I stumble, here and there… :S should I write this? But… it’s so… boastful… How about that? But, it’s a bit of exaggeration there… I need to beef up my worldliness on paper and present it to the world to judge my worth in the world… That’s totally insane! It’s so tempting!

If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. 2 Cor 11:30

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain. Ps 127:1

Anyhow, I must still do it, and it’s due really soon.. Like that how?Someone, teach me how to do this CV in a pleasing manner? Could I say this here? Hey, you believers out there - ever thought what the most perfect CV would look like? I reckon this: -

Nothing…. actually.. but Christ in me, the hope of glory!

Then again, we are far from that! Hiyarh, welcome to Planet Earth! We are  the not of world, they all say, but still, we are in the world!

Anyway, CNY photos and some of the Fav Dishes that we’d prepare when the relatives come over to our place ", This year, I’d not take any credit! Excused myself cos of work haha… :S Sometimes I don’t realise how so blessed I am to be surrounded by good food, and good cooks at home!

Okay, this one, i must clarify, despite all the comments on FB, i didn’t mean to portray some kind of motherly scary image.. or whatever else :S

We just whipped out the camera that morning, then they all put on their suits for fun! So, i just followed! hah!

I’m rarely that proud of exhibiting family stuff! haha…. somehow… but this time… something’s different! Everybody looks so happy!

I’ve always wondered, why are there those who slam other preachers so outrightly? Even preachers who do so of other preachers in front of their whole congregation?

It’s all over Youtube! While it’s insightful for myself to hear the different takes on certain issues, it makes me wonder whether this is a right thing for churches to do to each other…

Sometimes when i hear of one (preacher, for example) slamming another for something that the latter said that was ‘wrong’ or grey, he then makes everybody believe that the preacher’s whole theology is wrong.. Condemns him, and the church… Won’t that confuse the people belonging to the latter’s church? how stumbling! Many times, the slamming comments you hear are like personal attacks..  I don’t know..

SOmetimes it seems like there’s nothing inherently wrong with what that person is preaching, in fact, I’d probably find someone within our own community, even a leader, saying such things, and there’s nothing morally wrong with that, in fact, it makes a whole lot of sense!

For example, if I were to say to someone discouraged, ‘you need to have faith in yourself ‘ as opposed to this mega church pastor saying those exact words.. I’m certain that someone… somehow will get it taped and start slamming him, saying ‘helllo? his theology is wrong! what faith in yourself! faith in Jesus is what we must have!’ And the next day, we’ll see on youtube, this poor preacher being quoted out of context, and this other guy trying to prove him wrong with as many bible verses as possible!… Ok this is extreme example.. but know what i mean?

Hai… it’s so frustrating! I could well be guilty of that!

This happens a lot especially in mega churches..  sadly… also, more likely than not, these are the preachers who stronger in their opinions and words… they dare to speak.. hmmm i don’t know man..

We do not worship the bible, we worship God.

Each has his own strengths, his own weaknesses man… Unless we are Jesus! Well, we should strive to be like Jesus though! Ultimately who are we to do all these slamming! God’ll be the ultimate judge!

Romans 14 puts it well.

I struggle, do you?

Dear all, I’ve recently been here: http://turnyourears.wordpress.com

It was opened by Jon Huang, a blog mainly about worship, and worship music! I think it’s a good read, not only because of what is posted, but also the many comments that follow. (I’ve posted some comments too, but then I realise in light of other comments, there’s just so much I don’t know? Have you heard of Ban1 Men2 Nong4 Fu3 a chinese idiom? That’s me here! :S ) Personally, it’s gotten me thinking, and to realise differing points of view! So do take a look! (:

G’day!

Aunty Shirley and Tiffany (cousin) came over to bake cookies cos it felt necessary to do something for CNY! Haha! (Oh what an excuse not to do USP readings!) So, the following filled my whole day!

Cornflake Sesame Shortbread?

This one is major aggaration… haha! We kinda made it up.. But it turned out nice.. like a shortbread… so haha!

A CNY Goodie.
Makes 4 Trays.
1.    Mix softened butter (slightly more than 3/4 cup) with ½ - ¾ cup sugar until creamy with a fork.
2.    Add in a few drops of vanilla essence and a small egg.
3.    Fold in 2 cups un-sifted plain flour. Add in a desired amount of black sesame seeds. (More better!) Knead everything together.
4.    Stir in ¾ of a medium pack of crushed cornflakes.
5.    Roll out small balls of dough and coat with remaining crushed cornflakes.
6.    Bake 180 deg 10 mins.

ALright.. the flour is unsifted cos… we were lazy. haha! man, what a long day, doubt i’ll be doing this again very soon… :S
