Must try: Basil Loaf, hazelnut stick
1/2 Price after 9.30pm everyday including the cakes
Ok it's a mad rush if I decide to get the bread.. Couple of times I queued up (after 9.30) and ALWAYS! there would be this person right in front of me who would snap up the last loaf I was eyeing! :( So be quick! The hazelnut pastry's really nutty and good.. Basil loaf is probably the best thing there..

Must try: Char Siew Bo Luo (Polo) Bun, Cheese Loaf
20% off buns, 40% off cakes after 8.30pm
This is classic Hong Kong bakery man.. If you've never been to HK, you just gotta eat the Polo bun. If you've been to HK, and yet never heard of this, you can forever stop eating. ;| This deceiving little sweet bun's got my brother crazy enough to drive to IMM after 8.30pm just to get a bag of them for breakfast! Cheese loaf has got thick, generous swirls of cheddar inside. So good! I love the Taro loaf too!
Nora's Pastries & Cakes
Blk 18 Toh Yi Drive
Buns and loaves, assorted cakes.
The dough is unbelievably chewy.. it's kinda super light too! Everytime I buy it, I feel a bit cheated cos the plastic bag would feel empty haha.. Chewy bread is just nicer and more interesting to bite into. (:
Cedele by Bakery Depot
Islandwide; Raffles City, Jelita, Great World City, to name a few
Muffins, Scones, Soups, Cakes, Bread, Western Food, etc.
These are the real real muffins... Not the tender, crumbly, cakey sorts you get all over the place.. In Singapore, real muffins are pretty rare. Even those from dome? Not really. Cedele's got them moist, light and fluffy, yet bread-like. Sounds impossible? Try it. It's a nice shape too! Hah! Love the carrot muffins. The blueberry muffin bursts, literally. It was after sampling these muffins I went on a muffin project actually! Well, I don't really fancy the bread, it tastes good, but it's lift out there for too long and hence too hard and dry for me.
SLII Muffin
Golden Mile Food Centre #01-47; Blk 138 Tampines St 11 #01-114
Muffins - 1 for $1.20; 6 for $6.00
Came across these by chance, and they were piping hot. Ok first up, I am totally not a cakey muffin (fine-crumb). But maybe I'll make an exception here because they're different; they are extra light and lack the greasy, buttery taste other cakey muffins do. Definitely much much better than the overly-hyped up Chocolate 'n' Spice muffins at Shun Fu Market (Thomson). Then again, they were just taken out from the oven when I ate them, and people tell me that hot things will always taste good! Haha! (:
