Egg Tart/Pastry

Egg Tart - $1.20; Lau Po Bing - 90c
Oh... I have bad affinity with this place. The first time I found this treasure at IMM, it moved. Then I found it at Junction 8. And, it moved again. Then now, I find it at Tampines Mall.. SO far away! BUT it's still worth ALL the effort! The pastry is so layered and just thick enough! Crumbles perfectly. The egg custard? Not too sweet, just right. Silky, and it's perfectly balanced out with the slight milkiness. The best thing - LARD-FREE. I mean, how do you achieve such crumb without lard?! Lau Po Bing's good too! Everything thing there is lard-free! Feels good eating it! Hah!

Ang Ku Kueh

These are sooo good... Every other ang ku kueh has either overly sticky or dried out skin that is too thick and filling that is too little! These are generously plump, filled with the bean filling and the skin is thin! The green tea-flavoured bean filling 'green' ku kueh has a very strong macha taste that stays ever after you've downed it. My personal favourite. My mom prefers the good old classic ang ku kueh. Also available in peanut, yam, salty, yellow one. Sells out fast! I'll gladly buy it for you if ask! Hah! (:
